From a psychological perspective, there are three states within each of us: the child, the adult, and the parent.

It matters which state you are in when you create a new earth, a new world. Are you acting from the state of a child who is capricious and unable to take responsibility, or from the state of a parent who criticizes?

Or from the state of an inner adult, who integrates the best of the other two and acts with full awareness.
