You can level up your chakras with simple movements! How to do it? Find out right now!
You probably already know the basics about chakras – energy centers in the body tuned to specific types of life energy (survival, love, self-expression, and others).
The state of your chakras is in a reciprocal connection with your body and your life.
If some area is “failing,” the corresponding chakra is unbalanced. By consciously working on that area, the chakra becomes more active and harmonious.
This also works in reverse. If you start working with a chakra, the area of life it governs will automatically balance out.
For example, by working with the heart chakra, you can heal respiratory system issues and improve your relationships with people.
And by leveling up the root chakra, financial success will start to flow.
The simplest way to effectively balance your chakras
One of the basic methods is yoga for chakras, or kundalini yoga.
This is a specially designed system of exercises aimed at achieving specific states within the energy system.
The exercises can be physical (asanas), breathing (pranayama), meditative, sound-based (mantras), and more.
What’s especially remarkable about these routines is the wide-ranging positive impact they have on you:
- A healthy body. Your muscles get stronger, blood flows to your internal organs, saturating them with oxygen and flushing out toxins. A “side” effect can be losing excess weight and overcoming illnesses.

There is one important factor in excess weight that neither dietitians nor psychologists know about. It is…
- A strong will. You practice regularly, dedicate time and attention to yourself, and as a result, your self-esteem and spiritual strength grow.
- Balanced chakras. While the first two points can be achieved with regular fitness, yoga offers conscious work with energy through physical practice.
If other methods of balancing chakras still seem difficult for you, doing simple physical and breathing exercises is something even a beginner can handle.
By performing a specific sequence of actions, kundalini yoga has a harmonizing effect on each chakra. Thanks to this, the life energy kundalini freely rises up the central channel.
This promotes your inner liberation, spiritual insight, health, and success in the physical world.
I practice yoga at an amateur level myself, and of course, I’m not an expert.
So in this article, I’m sharing examples of kundalini yoga lessons for chakras from recognized international experts.
Yoga for Chakras
Yoga for the Root Chakra (Muladhara)
This chakra is located at the base of the spine and governs your survival, security, and “grounding” in the physical world.
The practice of yoga for Muladhara has a cleansing effect on the intestines (shank-prakshalana, nauli kriya), increases spinal flexibility, and also strengthens the muscles of the perineum and thighs.
It allows you to free yourself from physical and energetic toxins, conducts energy down through your legs, strengthening your connection with the Earth.

Answer the questions that will allow you to assess your energetic potential.
The sequence usually includes mula bandha (the lower energy lock: alternately tensing and drawing inward the muscles of the sphincter, perineum, and lower abdominal muscles), which accompanies the performance of asanas and breath retentions; as well as asanas that engage the lower abs, forward bends, and lunges.
Yoga for the Sacral Chakra (Svadhisthana)
This is the energy center located just below the navel. The place of origin of emotions, desires, and sexual energy.
The genitourinary system, spleen, kidneys, and liver are connected to it.
The yoga exercise sequence provides stimulation for these organs, enhances their metabolism, and also strengthens the abdominal muscles.
And, of course, it allows you to be in harmony with your feelings and desires and to achieve your goals.
The practice includes exercises for the abs, forward bends and backbends of the lumbar spine, hip opening, rhythmic breathing, and so on.
Yoga for the Solar Plexus Chakra (Manipura)
The third chakra is located between the navel and the base of the sternum. This is the center of will, action, and active self-expression.
The chakra is connected to and influences the organs and glands of the digestive system.
Yoga includes asanas that work the abdominal muscles, twists, which bring a powerful rush of blood to the abdominal area, and the familiar forward bends and backbends. As well as deep “belly” breathing, to supply all internal organs and tissues with oxygen.
On an energetic level, the practice opens your manipura, meaning it strengthens your willpower and boundaries, helping you achieve a balance between the spiritual and material worlds (simply put, using your energetic potential for well-being in life).

Yoga for the Heart Chakra (Anahata)
The heart center (chest) is responsible for your ability to love, i.e., to see the harmony of the world, build trusting relationships with people, and value and accept yourself.
The heart and lungs belong to this chakra.
Working with this chakra, you free yourself from hatred and other blocking feelings, and begin to radiate and receive love and beauty in their fullness.

A person’s heart is closed from real contact with their own feelings and from adequate interaction with other people. This leads to the fact that…
Also, yoga asanas open your chest, ensuring the health of your cardiovascular and respiratory systems.
The practice includes backbends and twists of the thoracic spine, opening and stretching the muscles of the arms and shoulders, and of course, several types of breathing.
Yoga for the Throat Chakra (Vishuddha)
The throat chakra (base of the throat) is responsible for your voice in the broadest sense of the word, i.e., communication, self-expression in creativity, and relationships with society.
This is the center of intuition and the expression of your truth.
Yoga poses strengthen and stretch the cervical spine and stimulate the thyroid gland. These include backbends, shoulder stands and other inverted poses, head tilts, and inverted asanas.
Asanas promote a freer flow of energy upward through the channels. They also relieve you of headaches and osteochondrosis (for example, from working at a computer) and strengthen your immunity.
Yoga for the Third Eye Chakra (Ajna)
Ajna (between the eyebrows) is the chakra of vision, knowledge, and trust in your inner voice. It is also responsible for your thinking and imagination.
It is connected to the organs of vision, as well as the pituitary gland, which influences growth and metabolism.
Yoga for this chakra enhances and optimizes your thought processes and allows you to free yourself from lies (first and foremost, to yourself).

You suddenly begin to feel the truth. It’s as if you have a lie detector built into your chest, but with expanded functionality.
On the physical level, it has a beneficial effect on vision and the blood vessels of the brain, and normalizes blood pressure.
The practice includes various asanas for balance and concentration, as well as poses with the forehead resting on the floor.
An important element of yoga for the third eye chakra is Anuloma Viloma breathing (alternate nostril breathing). It harmonizes the work of the hemispheres and allows you to calm down.
Close your right nostril with the thumb of your right hand, inhale through the left – then close your left nostril with your index finger and exhale through the right.
Next, inhale through the right, close it, and exhale through the left. Repeat this 12 times.
Yoga for the Crown Chakra (Sahasrara)
The chakra is located at the crown of the head and is connected to the pineal gland.
It is responsible for your connection with the Divine, opening access to enlightenment and higher knowledge.
The free ascent of kundalini to this chakra (through the balanced previous ones) is the main goal of the practices.
Yoga includes asanas for balancing energy in the body, and some active movements that warm up the body from the bottom up. A typical exercise for this chakra is a headstand.
The practice also includes meditations in half-lotus and lotus poses, and Shavasana (corpse pose).
Shavasana is performed lying on your back, with your eyes closed and your arms and legs straight. It involves complete relaxation and observation of the free movement of energy in the body (inner silence).
If you have been carefully and correctly performing the previous practices, then in shavasana you will be able to feel complete dissolution and unity with the Universe.
Safety Guidelines
During your practice, make sure your spine is straight and your breathing remains calm and full. Avoid jerky movements and pain. Take into account your physiological characteristics and health condition, and tell your instructor about any ailments.
When performing an exercise for a particular chakra, you can maintain a light concentration on that center. Be internally focused, and do not get distracted by extraneous thoughts and emotions.
Of course, the article describes only an approximate set of kundalini yoga exercises. In reality, a sequence for each chakra can take anywhere from 40 minutes to 1.5 hours and includes a wide variety of movement and breathing techniques, mantra chanting, and meditations.
