Children are helpers in opening the heart and an opportunity to experience unconditional love.

I think most mothers have noticed that magical feeling inside when you hug your children. But few realize that it can be amplified, strengthened, and even transmitted to those around you.

I have an incredible experience on this topic that I want to share. A practice that will help you experience unconditional love.

Hugs with children open the heart

One day, holding my three-year-old daughter on my lap, I noticed a pleasant warmth and tenderness in my chest. And as soon as I directed my attention to these sensations and decided to enjoy them, they intensified.

I was smiling, stroking my daughter, taking immense pleasure in the process. My state transferred to my daughter; she basked and snuggled. And at some point, I felt us as light, a pure cloud of sparkling love.

Unconditional love can not only be felt but also shared with others

When we were both “blissed out,” my daughter ran to her father. He picked her up. And the husband who had been grumbling just a couple of minutes earlier transformed into that same light.

I watched them from the side, feeling that very unconditional love. I saw how my child was glowing, lying in my husband’s arms. And how my utterly earthly husband was smiling amusingly, perhaps feeling this sensation for the first time and hardly understanding what it really was.

It was interesting to observe how the next day my husband held our daughter the same way at arm’s length, perhaps trying to revive yesterday’s feelings, thinking that she was their source.

The “Cuddle” practice that helps you experience unconditional love

Since that time, my daughter and I have started an evening practice. She calls it “cuddling.”

We hug. I focus on my heart and quietly bliss out from the love spreading through me. Trying, at the same time, not to forget to thank her for this opportunity.

She likes this practice so much that every day she declares we will cuddle more and more times.

Here is another practice you can use for healing the physical body, traumatic situations, and transforming negative emotions and thoughts into light.

For the practice to work

Don’t try to gift someone with love or want someone else to feel it.

First and foremost, you need to allow yourself to fully enjoy it. And when you are already filled up, those around you become “infected” with love, and only if they themselves want it.
