Is there a “ceiling” in spiritual development and how to overcome it

What do you think—does spiritual growth depend on a person and their inner work, or are we born with a certain level and a “ceiling”?

A person usually asks this question when they reach a specific point of growth, of spiritual development.

It’s as if they’re being pulled toward something, they have a drive for a certain activity or self-expression, a desire to realize themselves in some way, but it doesn’t work out.

They can’t go back, because their whole soul yearns to move forward, yet they can’t break through the ceiling.

Can we, in principle, step over this obstacle on the spiritual path? And if we can, what needs to be done for that?

That’s what we’ll talk about.

Why obstacles are needed on the spiritual path

Let’s look at this question from an energetic perspective.

Every person, depending on the task they are meant to fulfill on the planet, comes here with a certain set of chakras either switched on or off.

If your task is to be a public speaker, to motivate and inspire people, you need to have well-functioning:

  • the throat chakra, to freely express your truth,
  • the heart chakra, through which you gain the ability to empathize and understand other people,
  • the sacral chakra, which will allow you to openly and sincerely express emotions.

These are necessary attributes for successful interaction with people.

If you are a high-achiever, a person who clearly sets goals and systematically works toward them, you will have corresponding energy centers working:

  • the solar plexus, which is responsible for willpower, determination, and self-confidence,
  • and the root chakra, whose activity ensures the materialization of all ideas and plans.

For more details on which chakras are responsible for what, read the article Chakras: How to Use Them in Everyday Life.

For each task, the set of tools will be different.

But, as a rule, by the time you are ready to step onto your path of spiritual purpose, this tool is broken.

It is blocked, obstructed by various traumas, limiting beliefs, and negative patterns.

Your task is to free yourself from this husk, these blocks, and turn it on.

Everyone has such a tool, and there is a ceiling you can reach, but beyond that, you need to break through.

Since we live on a planet of free choice, we ourselves can choose — to break through this ceiling or stay below. Your choice determines everything.

But you can’t just jump over this wall. You need to do something, overcome some obstacle, to activate the baggage you came here with.

This is planned by your soul.

As mentioned above, the tool of a leader or speaker is the active throat, heart, and sacral chakras.

Until they break through their ceiling, despite all their spirituality and awareness, these chakras will be their weak spots. They are either blocked or functioning weakly.

Exactly what they need most is not working, it’s turned off.

In life, such a person doesn’t know how to express their truth, is afraid to voice their opinion, or can’t communicate it. They withdraw and close themselves off from interacting with people, unable to show their feelings.

If this is an achiever, then their tool is the active solar plexus and root chakras. In a “broken” state, this manifests as the person being weak-willed, lacking the energy to achieve goals. They live in a fantasy world, jump from one goal to another, and never finish anything.

How to Overcome Obstacles on the Spiritual Path

1. Free Yourself from Childhood Traumas and Negative Patterns

Identify what specifically is stopping you from moving forward. As a rule, at this stage of spiritual development, you already know your red buttons and have studied your weak spots.

And it’s time to say goodbye to them. This is a difficult task, but if your soul has planned such a path, then you will also find the resources to free yourself from this now-unnecessary burden.

There are a million ways to do this; all that’s needed from you is a willingness to change and move forward.

We have one such way — it’s the transformation seminar “Dance with the Shadow.”

2. Activate Your Chakras

There is another path. Since we are looking at the issue of obstacles from an energetic perspective, we recommend finding out which of your chakras are in deficit.

Identify the main directions you are drawn to, what your soul is asking for. Then correlate this with the chakra system and determine which chakras you need to achieve what you desire.

Most likely, these chakras will be out of balance.

3. Expand Your Social Circle

On the path to your destiny, you meet people whose communication helps you step over that barrier and rise higher.

Decide which direction you want to go and seek out people who have already achieved what you are only planning.

If you lack spirituality, communicate with highly spiritual people; if you lack material fulfillment, communicate with those who have already united spirituality and money within themselves.

Communicate with those who are one step above you in the topic you are studying.

Absorb the person’s mindset. Digest it until it becomes integrated into you. When you realize it is already yours, move on.

4. Step out of your comfort zone

Make it a rule to regularly take on challenges. Plan everything so that the challenge is within your strength, otherwise you will freeze and not want to move at all.

Let it be a small challenge, but every day, some achievement, mastering something new.

The main thing is that you feel you are not standing still. And be sure to record your successes.

Read the article What is the comfort zone and why it is dangerous to stay in it for too long.

Stepping out of your personal comfort zone means taking actions that are a bit scary to do. There is always a risk of losing something.
But to move forward, you need to go beyond the boundaries of your comfort zone.

Without doing something new, it is impossible to achieve anything. Not to mention the ceiling you are striving to break through.

Nowadays, more and more people understand that fears and living by someone else’s orders do not move you forward. And they make a choice in favor of their true desires.

In my time, I dreamed of having a job with a flexible schedule and healthy, comfortable relationships within the team. Rather than sitting in the office from bell to bell, even though all the work had long been done.

Even though my job provided me with a social package, an entry in my work record book, and other perks, and matched common beliefs about stability, it did not give me the main thing — satisfaction from what I was doing.

As soon as I allowed myself to step out of my comfort zone — to look at my life more broadly, I realized that what I truly wanted was for people’s lives to become better because of my actions.

And what I was doing at that time did not match my desires.

I took a risk and have never regretted changing my traditional, stable job, which was understandable to my parents and loved ones, for collaboration with Klyuchi. My wall fell, and I got the opportunity to understand myself and my destiny more deeply.
