Three reasons why you put off fulfilling your desires

Every person has a set of desires whose fulfillment is constantly postponed indefinitely. Why does this happen? Discover the reasons why you put off making your wishes come true, and how to eliminate them.

Three Reasons for Postponing the Fulfillment of Desires

1. Setting the Bar Too High

Perhaps you are setting the bar too high. And your current “Self” doesn’t believe this can be achieved.

Imagine yourself as if this desire has already come true. Picture it in every detail. How would you behave if you already had what you dream of? What would you do, what would you feel, what would you think about, what would you be wearing, where would you be?

The more detailed the picture of that future “Self” is, the better. And be sure to not just imagine a picture, but also feel that version of yourself, to inhabit the body of your future self, who already has what you so strongly desire.

Imagine this image as often as possible, until your consciousness gets used to it and believes that it is possible and achievable.

A bar set too high can also manifest in the fact that you once imagined the fulfillment of your desire in some specific form, but over time, you haven’t reconsidered whether you still need it in that form.

You continue to believe that what you desire is unattainable, even though you already have the means and other conditions to get what you want.

Practically every person, regardless of their self-esteem, age, stage of spiritual development, or accumulated life experience, has some seemingly unattainable dream.

Realizing it won’t come true, people forbid themselves from dreaming.

2. Lack of Self-Belief

If you simply can’t believe in the fulfillment of your desire, then most likely you are underestimating yourself. You consider yourself unworthy of having what you desire.

But the Universe doesn’t care whether you have it or not. The Universe is generous and abundant. If you send out destructive energy that you are unworthy of something, the Universe has no choice but to fulfill your request.

It’s important to remember that no one is better or worse than you, that everyone is worthy of love and abundance. And all your wildest dreams are worthy of you and have the right to be fulfilled. If you have wished for it, it means there is also an opportunity to obtain it. Otherwise, this desire wouldn’t have come to you at all.

Get used to the idea that you are worthy of more, of better, and the fulfillment of your desire will be inevitable. But you need to consider that you will still have to take some action. Otherwise, the Universe won’t believe that you really need it.

Go through the meditation “See, Love, and Value Yourself,” which will help you see your true self, so that you can show yourself and everyone around who you are without fear, without looking back at others’ opinions.

3. Fear of Failure

So, you’ve imagined the picture, and now you’re afraid you won’t be able to get from point A to point B. The gap between who you are now and who you are there is too big.

You have to eat an elephant one bite at a time. Rome wasn’t built in a day. You’ve already seen the difference between your present self and your future self. Write down the qualities your future self possesses, what you lack today, what feelings you are missing.

Go into the meditation “Meeting Your Future Self” to feel these vibrations more strongly and attune to them. Anchor them and return to these feelings as often as possible, especially when you feel fear or uncertainty.

Working with Secondary Gains

Sometimes we block the fulfillment of many desires ourselves. If you’ve gone through the stages of feeling unworthy of your dream coming true, worked with the mind that didn’t believe IT could happen, but you’re still holding yourself back and not taking action, use this method.

Divide a sheet of paper into 2 parts. In the 1st part, write the benefits: why I still don’t have this. After all, if you had it, it would interfere with your current state. It turns out that it’s beneficial for you not to have it.

In the 2nd part, write what you will gain if you have what you desire. Often, some far-fetched fears, common old beliefs, and paradigms that have nothing to do with who you are today come to the surface.

You can supplement this exercise by writing next to each item from the 1st list what could replace that benefit. This way, you negotiate with yourself, or more precisely, with your mind or that part of you that is still afraid to have what you want.

You can also strengthen the exercise by adding your new belief under each such item from the 1st list, starting with the words “So what.”

For example, “I’ll have to communicate with people often” — “So what if I have to communicate with people often,” and so on.

Continue this until the mind exhausts itself on the subject of protecting you from the new. After all, the mind fears change; the mind is based on past experience. If something didn’t work out for you once, the mind will remember it and build a big obstacle on the path to what you desire.

This exercise, despite its apparent simplicity, is very effective, and it brings about changes in you and in your life.

After all, if you prove to the mind that everything will be fine if you get what you want, the fulfillment of the desire might not be the end of it.

In doing so, you remove the block, releasing energy that can bring you much more than just this one desire.
