Story 10. A Sharp Turn

Summer 2008. Elena Brezhneva contacts me on Skype. They need a translator for a Pepper Lewis seminar in Moscow 🤗

Ahhhh, but I’m not a translator, I’m a teacher. You can’t exactly look up a word in a dictionary on stage when you don’t know it, right!?

Inside, a storm of emotions, but I understood — I couldn’t say no! This kind of chance comes once in a lifetime.

The interview with Pepper is in a month and a half, so there’s time to prepare.

🔸 Lena offered to help revive my spoken English, so we’d call each other on Skype and chat about various topics.

Everyone thought she was a tough lady, but she helped me immensely with her support.

🔸 I downloaded videos from Pepper’s seminars, listened to them sentence by sentence, hit pause, and translated…

🔸 But my main fear was related to how I perceive speech by ear.

In college, we had listening comprehension classes — they’d play news from English radio, and we had to repeat what we heard.

And that’s where I had a clear problem: I absolutely could NOT perceive some voices by ear.

Especially male voices 😈 What if history repeated itself!?

After a long search online, I found an exercise aimed at activating the chakras in the ears (it’s not saved — don’t ask me to share it) and started doing it several times a day.

⚠️ My efforts paid off, and I passed the interview. Moscow was waiting for me in September 💃💃💃

⭕️ I planned to arrive early so I’d have time to look around and talk a lot (that’s important to shift from passive translation mode to active), but that’s not how it went!

I hadn’t even made it to the train station when my phone rang: Where are you? Hurry up, you’re going to the TV studio right now, Pepper is giving an interview.

What? What interview? I’m not ready!!!

⭕️ I was riding the subway, calming myself with the thought that the interview would be recorded, and if I messed up, they’d just cut that part out.

No such luck! The show was live.

And the cherry on top was the calls from the audience, where people asked Pepper questions live 🤦‍♀️

⭕️ You have no idea what was going on inside me and how much I had to breathe to keep my voice from shaking!!!

There was a real revolution in my stomach, my guts were cramping from fear…

But by the time we got to the hotel, I was completely over it — I had survived my biggest fear of publicly embarrassing myself in front of a huge audience!

⭕️ By the way, I never actually had to stand on stage that time; a male translator worked in the hall, and I spent the next few days working on individual channelings with Gaia.

An amazing experience interacting with a trance channel!

After each session, I took notes for myself, there was so much wisdom in Gaia’s words.

What do you think of this twist of fate? Have you ever faced a once-in-a-lifetime chance? Did you grab it or let it slip?

P.S. I don’t have any photos from that time, so the cover image is a photo with Pepper Lewis from the Kryon conference in Riga, 2011.

And here’s a video of Pepper’s talk — can you recognize my interpreter’s voice?
