The previous story ended with me reading Solara’s 2007 forecast about “all or nothing” and responding to Igor’s call to participate in editing the translation of the book “Telos — 1.”
About six months later, Andrey Kostenko — the editor-in-chief of the Sofia publishing house — reached out to me and said that a) they wanted to publish the book “Telos” as soon as possible, b) there was a ready translation on the forum, c) Igor and the other translators refused to reveal their names, and d) was I ready to put my name on the translation contract so the book could go straight to print?!!!
Aaaaaah, there it was, an opportunity falling right into your lap!
— I’m ready. I just need time to make edits to other people’s translations so the book has a consistent style and terminology…
📍In December 2007, I signed my first contract with Sofia. In early 2008, I received two copies of the book as the translator. On the title page, my name appeared: translation by A. Starovoitova.
I gave the first copy of the book to my mom — as proof of her child’s achievement. Mom was very worried about how I would manage after leaving school, she was anxious, but she supported me.
📍Next, Sofia offered me to translate a book by Ronna Herman with messages from Archangel Michael.
Another coincidence?
All year I had been translating channelings from Archangel Michael through Celia Fenn, and here was a book “by the same author”…
I honestly don’t think it was just a coincidence.
For translating the book, I received 5,000 rubles (~$200 USD at 2008 rate) — for two months of book translation. That was two months of daily work, no days off or weekends 😂
But with breaks for tutoring — a girl’s gotta eat…
By education, I’m a teacher; in university, they drilled us in pedagogy and child psychology, not elegant prose and the great Russian language.
Very quickly, I realized I lacked vocabulary — literary Russian.
In English, it’s simple — the same verb can carry a dozen meanings. But the rich Russian language, with its nuances and terminology…
This became a growth point: I bought/downloaded books on metaphysics, wrote down beautiful figurative expressions in a notebook, and matched them with English translations.
📍I hit my second growth point when Sofia, in “needs to be done yesterday” mode, decided to publish a new Kryon book — four translators were working on it simultaneously.
Kryon has a very specific energy, and I couldn’t tune into it.
You read the text in English — it all seems clear.
You start writing the translation in Russian, and it comes out all twisted and crooked. It just doesn’t sound right!
The realization that before translating anything, you need to attune to the channel’s energy has saved me many times since.
📍But the biggest challenge was a little book by Goldman on sound healing: I had never encountered so many serious terms from physics and geometry anywhere.
I had to not just find a term for translation, but delve into the laws of physics — otherwise, how could I understand if I had correctly grasped what was written? Yeah.
But I learned so many new words in Russian in the process ))
👉Do you know what a dodecahedron is?
I am often asked whether I planned to become who I am today.
The answer is very clear: No.
Moreover, if someone had told me in advance about the path I have walked, I would have rejected it 🙅♀️ with all my heart and soul.
Not because this path was difficult or bad.
But out of fear 😈. I would never have believed it was possible.
Everything starts small!
With your real name on your translations. With a response to an offer to translate a book.
‼️ And you never know WHERE a particular step will lead you!
