Side effects during meditation and energy practices

During group meditations, as well as during live streams with Q&A sessions for paid courses, similar questions are often asked regarding one or another bodily reaction experienced during practice.

We have compiled them into one article. Read about why you feel dizzy, experience chest pain, or a tight throat, and how to alleviate or completely eliminate these symptoms.

Heaviness in the head or strange pressing sensations in the head area

Pressure on the head begins when a powerful flow of energy is present. If this energy does not descend downwards for some reason (blockages in the chakras, chronic illnesses), then this energy, in the form of an inverted pyramid, remains above in the area of the crown chakra.

If you often do not express what you think or want, and do not allow yourself to express your true essence, then the blockage is most likely located in the throat chakra.

Resentment and disappointment block energy at the level of the heart chakra, and the further it goes, the more blockages there are. They form this inverted pyramid.

When consciousness expands, all the energy gathers around the head. The task is to manually force it downwards.

Close your eyes, take a full deep breath, and direct the energy downwards for powerful grounding. Take a deep breath through the crown of your head and, using your hands, directly guide the energy downwards. Stand up and direct it all the way down to the tips of your toes.

Dizziness after deep breathing through the heart. The cause

It all depends on your experience with energy and breathing practices. Skill is required. Work with doses that suit you. When it becomes hard to breathe or your head starts to spin, take a deep breath and direct the energy downward.

Often, a headache is an indicator of internal discord: the mind says one thing, the heart another. If you have never had migraines before and now your head hurts, it means this connection has broken down. The heart has a brain, and this connection is disrupted. It manifests in this way.

Stand up, bend over, and release a little energy. Imagine the excess energy from your head flowing down into the earth.

Burning sensation in the heart area. Pain in the heart chakra area. Severe heart pain

Heart pain arises from grievances toward the opposite sex.

For those with painful sensations in the heart, it means there is a powerful block — resentments, grievances. They are most likely directed at men: at the father, brothers, a past loved one, or a current partner.

To remove all this, you need to work through it, release it from yourself. The “Heart Breathing” practice will help you with this.

But pay attention to your sensations to avoid discomfort. For some, 2-3 breaths with a break are enough, while others may need to spend more time on this so the body’s energy system can adjust to different energy flows.

Severe pain in the chest

Let go of resentments. Opening the heart center often comes through pain precisely because everything there has become rigid.

Imagine a small, fragile flower trying to break through a dried crust of earth. It needs to break through – it comes with pain. Allow yourself in this case to be vulnerable and feel everything. There, most often, is bitterness, disappointment, and resentment.

Before, I used to say, read Louise Hay and Valery Sinelnikov, because they provide descriptions and the esoteric background of any illness, that is, the causes. Now I say – study your body, the structure of everything that is inside you. This is important! Then you will understand the causes.

This allows, firstly, the mind to calm down: “everything is fine with me,” and secondly, it helps to manage this process. That is, you are not in a car that is rushing at high speed and you do not know whether to trust the driver or not, but you are the one driving it. But this is increased responsibility!

For those who have any physical symptoms, do not rush to take pills, just breathe through your heart in a gentle mode. Not too deeply, but breathe.

This is a normal phenomenon: when we reconfigure something inside ourselves, all the clamps and blocks that are there usually become activated.

Study the material — “Three Exercises for Activating the Higher Heart.” If you have any negative, painful symptoms, it means there is a target to work on there.

Burning sensation in the crown area, in the thymus area

Burning of the crown is normal. It is through the crown that we draw energy. If you feel a burning sensation in the area of the thymus gland, it means you are activating an additional chakra, which is called the Higher Heart.

This is the center that connects us with spiritual awakening and with higher dimensions.

Trust that everything happens as it should. Pay attention to the sensations in your physical body; there should be no strong discomfort.

But when energy flows begin to move through the body, if there is a block from this life, past lives, or a chronic illness — where everything has long since atrophied and exists without energy — then painful physical sensations may occur. You simply need to continue working.

Working with energies is not a panacea for all ills; it is a supportive effect. Energy exercises serve to enhance the effect. Until you get to the root cause of the problem, energy exercises will support, but not fully heal.

Throat Constriction

For those whose throat feels tight, remember: the throat chakra is the center of expressing who you are outwardly. If your throat seizes up, and during meditation if it does seize up, breathe through your throat. Imagine that you are breathing through your throat. Then pay attention to it.

When the throat is constricted, it means that you are closing off, drowning, and trampling your truth. And, most importantly, not expressing it.

It often happens that people feel one thing inside but show another. Sometimes, to avoid conflict, one has to remain silent with friends, avoid certain topics, instead of saying, “I’m not interested in this,” and has to listen instead. All of this resides in the throat, so a lump is not surprising.

Tension in the Body

Don’t forget, meditation is one of the best ways to relax. Accordingly, if you feel tension, including emotional tension, simply exhale. Sit for five minutes, breathe.

It is useful to exhale everything from yourself. In our group meditation, there is a moment when you focus on yourself and exhale. Tightness in the body — we exhale. If ailments have worsened, the first step is to exhale.

Although I am not a healer, this works very well. You exhale the pain, giving yourself relief. This is a small tip.

Ears Getting Blocked. Cause

Ears get blocked during any energy work when energy starts moving in the head — this is a spontaneous phenomenon. If the energy does not pass through, simply direct it downward, even with your hands.

When energy gathers at the top and remains there, and does not flow downward — you can either breathe it down: scoop from above, hold in the heart, and lower it down; or physically use your hands with the intention that the energy descends — this also works.

Heat in the Solar Plexus

The solar plexus is our center of power, a kind of center of self-confidence and acceptance of one’s own value. It defines our “I Am!”. Self-determination — who I am.

And since we are clearing out old programs, removing unnecessary, destructive emotions, a rewrite of all processes occurs. This affects the solar plexus.

Cold in Hands and Feet

On the “Keys of Mastery” website, there is both energy gymnastics and various energy practices, including a free introductory mini-course on chakras.

When energy channels in the body are blocked, the first thing to get cold are the hands, and the nose turns red. These are symptoms that many of us had many years ago.

But as soon as you restore the body’s ability to pass flows from top to bottom, these symptoms disappear.

Yawning during meditation

If you yawn, it is completely normal. Yawning occurs when the brain lacks oxygen. With deep breathing, the distribution of oxygen in the body often changes, so yawning is normal.

Be mindful of your symptoms. Wherever we are, whatever thoughts we turn over in our heads, we must always listen to the signals the body sends. It usually responds, reacting very sensitively to everything that happens.

Unfortunately, most people only pay attention when pain symptoms appear. When something is blocked, something is not working, and for a long time, then pain appears. But many things can be caught at an early stage and measures taken.
