“There is always a way out of any maze”
tagline from the film “The Maze Runner”
A certain film prompted me to write this article. Perhaps some readers don’t appreciate science fiction and fantasy (I’m not trying to change anyone’s tastes). I enjoy fantasy films because their symbols often hide deep meaning.
It’s like parables, allegories, images that can more easily reach a person.
In this article, my reflections are inspired by the themes of the film “The Maze Runner.”
Let’s create our own images together and immerse ourselves in them. After all, vivid pictures are so appealing to our minds. Let’s play with it. Let’s give it its due! Let’s use it for its intended purpose.
Read on to see where the mazes of the mind can sometimes lead us and what qualities we can rely on instead.
What is the true role of the mind
We live day by day, unaware of how cunningly our mind is wired. How quickly it slips in opinions and assertions, leading us to “independently” arrive at one conclusion or another.
But we are convinced that this is our true self, so confident in ourselves and our judgments. We feel comfortable sitting on the sidelines and consuming everything the mind serves up, filled with all sorts of stuff from who knows where.
But we’ve forgotten the most important thing: the mind is not actually our manager, but our executor and tool. And it’s time for it to take its proper place.
Live on autopilot or learn to hear yourself
Sometimes we allow ourselves to peer into the depths of the maze, making small forays (like the movie heroes), but we quickly tire of wandering through the ever-changing mazes of the mind.
In the end, we return to our familiar, cozy, warm spot, with well-worn paths, even if they don’t entirely suit us.
Periodically, questions arise, and we venture into the maze to find answers. But here’s the trouble: each time, there are new paths, because the maze completely changes its configuration overnight. And there are all sorts of monsters roaming around, instilling fear.
And so, the paths we were sure of yesterday are dead ends today. We feel cornered. Years pass like this. It gets on our nerves and frightens us.
And we prefer not to think about it, but to “enjoy life.”
There are two options here. Either leave everything as it is, walking around the inner, open, well-trodden, so familiar, comfortable, and stable square inside the maze. Or continue searching for new ways out of the maze, for its patterns, learning each time to hear yourself, feel, and trust your intuition, choosing at every moment which way to turn.

Curiosity and interest in finding a way out of the mazes of the mind
After many years of inaction and accumulated fear, the labyrinth seems to us to have no way out. But then a new fearless hero appears, an explorer, a seeker, whose name is “Curiosity and Interest,” who strives to get to the heart of things. Truth and the nature of things are important to him.
And so this fearless explorer sets off on a journey. Does he know more than others? No. Does he possess any special characteristics: extra strength, knowledge, protection? No.
So what sets him apart from the other inhabitants of the inner labyrinth? What drives him forward? It is:
- faith that there is always a way out of any labyrinth.
- trust in oneself and one’s intuition.
- a heart filled with love – this makes the hero “fearless” in the eyes of others, although he too feels fear, he is alive after all.
- speed – because you need to make decisions so quickly in a labyrinth that is changing before your very eyes.

How to find a way out of the labyrinth of the mind
Looking at this list of qualities, one might object: “But what if I don’t have even half of these? What should I do?”
The answer is simple. All of this exists in every person a priori. We just throw these valuable qualities into the trash in the far corner of the attic and over time forget about their existence.
It’s high time to remember who you are. What gifts you possess by birthright on planet Earth. It’s time to meet yourself and invite all your parts to take their places, like in a puzzle where each piece must be in its place, otherwise the picture won’t come together.
All of the above qualities would be worth nothing without the unifying important components: curiosity and interest. They are what allow us not to stagnate, to draw energy and motivation from within ourselves, to create our own mood, to delight ourselves, to learn new things, and to grow day by day.

Using examples, we will look at limitations in different areas of life. You will learn why you don’t see your limitations and how to go beyond them.
And how do you motivate yourself to move forward? What inspires you to move into your own labyrinth?
