If you can’t visualize…

Visualization is a good way to use imagination to model or change your life.

Many spiritual practices and meditations include visualization… I myself often use visual images in my work.

But what about those who cannot or are unable to visualize?

Does this mean you will not be able to meditate effectively and develop spiritually?

Find out about this in the article.

Channels of information perception

There are several channels of information perception. And usually one of them prevails in a person.

  • An auditory learner perceives information well by ear, better than through other senses,
  • A visual learner has a predominant visual channel, remembers more information when it is accompanied by visual images,
  • A kinesthetic learner ("feeler") more often focuses on bodily sensations,
  • A digital learner, or the "I know" channel, is a person who has an inner knowledge that something is exactly this way and not otherwise.

All these channels are well used in meditation.

Does meditation work without visualization

Many beginners, when they come to the Keys of Mastery website and start going through meditations, encounter the misconception that if they cannot visualize or feel certain processes in the body (heat, cold, tingling), it means their meditation is not working.

But in reality, this is not the case. Meditation always works.

The ability to visualize does not determine the level of meditation effectiveness.

Its effectiveness decreases when you try to compare your sensations during meditation with the sensations of other participants.

In fact, only a limited number of people have the ability to see and visualize (mainly those with an active right hemisphere).

If you have an active left hemisphere, if you are a person of logic and duty, this ability may naturally be reduced.

But at the same time, you may have well-developed other channels of perception (smell, tactile sensations, etc., including claircognizance).

Thus, a person does not necessarily need to see, as the body transmits signals through different pathways.

The body is the main tool that helps you move forward.

Therefore, the lack of visualization ability is not a “contraindication” to participating in group meditation.

Meditations and activations work through intention

Meditations and activations that we conduct at the Keys of Mastery work through intention.

Even if you cannot see the image in the meditation or the body does not respond at all, work through intention. The meditation will work if there is your consent to what is being offered. And there is nothing wrong with you not seeing.

If the topic and goal of the practice resonate with you, simply trust what the meditation leader says and know that everything will work out for you in the best possible way.

To express intention, you do not need to see, hear, or have claircognizance.

The ability to visualize is like an additional function. But if this is difficult for you, there is no need to change yourself or think that you will not benefit from the meditation.

To understand how intention works, we recommend reading the books of Vadim Zeland.

How to develop perception channels

To benefit from meditation, it is enough to know your individual way in which your body transmits information.

Determine your prevailing channel of perception of information and appreciate what you have. Do not compare yourself with others. Each person goes through their own process and at their own pace. This is normal.

If you want to feel more, see more, develop that. With experience comes knowledge, other perception channels open up, and sensitivity increases.

In meditation, however, sensations in the body are more important than visualization. This should be emphasized more. If your body does not respond yet, give it time and practice more.

Use energy practices and energy gymnastics to develop sensitivity in the body.

There are meditations where you need to feel; then you must wait for a situation or state when you are full of feelings.

If necessary, train your visual channel of perception.

Learn to notice various little things, the beauty of nature: flowers, sky, clouds, the moon… Visit art exhibitions or watch them online.

Use special exercises to develop the visual channel; there are plenty of them on the internet.
