I used to admire people’s writing talent and courage to share about themselves and their experiences.
But 3 years ago, I stopped just sitting around admiring and started writing articles myself, sharing my worldview and insights.
In this article, I’ll share the method that helped me. And if you want to unlock your talents and gifts, it will definitely help you too.
Admiring qualities in others is a sign they exist within you
It’s good when you admire specific qualities in people and highlight them, but if you don’t notice your own in the process, your potential remains unfulfilled.
When you react with admiration to a certain quality in another person, it indicates that this quality also exists within you in some form.
Sometimes a wistful feeling arises inside: “I wish I could do that too.” But you seem afraid to admit it to yourself. Sound familiar?
What abilities, skills, or talents in others do you admire?
These are qualities you once pushed out of your awareness, and the feeling of admiration, sometimes tinged with dissatisfaction, is your subconscious’s reaction, hinting that they’re missing to complete the puzzle of your wholeness.

Going back to my story, when I realized what lay behind my admiration, I found as many as 2 gifts: writing, expressing thoughts in text, as well as the strength and courage to say what I think and share my experience.
While I had always admired the courage to be open and speak one’s truth, I had completely forgotten about my ability to write since my school essay days.
I certainly never thought about writing a full article, especially on Klyuchi.
I would have just sat there if it hadn’t occurred to me that this was my shadow aspect, and the courage to broadcast my truth in a certain form is also inherent in me.

Light shadow aspects always make themselves known through a desire to acquire a specific skill, ability, talent, or quality. But how do you reclaim a gift you lost in the past?
How to reclaim and unlock lost talents and gifts
Write a list of what you admire in others while simultaneously feeling dissatisfied that you don’t possess that quality: the ability to see things through, persistence, determination, the ability to rejoice.
Everyone’s list is different.
Pick one thing and follow this algorithm:
1. Allow yourself to consider that you also possess the quality or skill you admire in others
At first, this is usually hard to believe. Because your consciousness has repressed this quality, you don’t see it as your own.
But it is yours. Perhaps in a different form, but it exists within you. And this is an axiom.
Now I rejoice when I find such a quality in others that makes me admire them. Because I know it’s also in me—I just need to accept and unlock it.

2. Acknowledge that you yourself pushed this quality outside your sense of self
Your task is to acknowledge that this quality exists within you. You don’t know what reasons led you to reject this quality. And honestly, it doesn’t really matter.
But if you’re curious about why it happened, I don’t recommend relying solely on the logic of the mind, because the true reason may be completely different from what you think.
So, instead of guessing, it’s better to go on the meditative journey “The Bus” in the course “Dance with the Shadow” and meet your shadow there.
3. Welcome the repressed quality back
At this stage, you integrate the repressed quality back into yourself. The energy that was blocked by your false beliefs, based on past events, is released.
When you acknowledge the shadow aspect, the need to suppress your desires and abilities disappears, and they unfold.
Here’s how it was for Alena Starovoitova:
“For me, the most powerful breakthrough in working with the Shadow was the emotional release of the repressed ability to ‘make faces,’ which had been pushed to the back of my consciousness.
As it turned out, this was exactly what caused my pathological inability to remember jokes (despite having a good sense of humor), my inability to tell stories in character, and my very serious outlook on life…
These seem like small things, but so many more colors returned to life after reclaiming what was lost in childhood: I can now mimic, lighten the mood with simple ‘fooling around,’ and I’ve started to see many things more simply.
How, you ask?

As for me, the energy that was released along with accepting the light shadow gave me the ability to write articles that support and inspire hundreds of people.
Moreover, I gained a desire to support others like me who want to open up to the world and share their worldview.
At this stage, all of this turned into a project we launched at the beginning of last year, focused on finding talents among our subscribers and clients.
