Spiritual Practices: Basic Level

If you are seriously interested in spiritual practices, you have probably noticed that the information on the internet about this topic is an “information chaos.”

It’s easy to get confused in it, or even fall into a trap set by unscrupulous “guru” brain-foggers. It is in their nature to create a kind of “mystical fog” around “spiritual spirituality.”

The more of this “fog” there is, the higher the probability that the person themselves doesn’t understand what they are teaching. Or, worse, they are deliberately misleading you.

In reality, there is nothing mysterious about spiritual practices. On the contrary, their key quality is simplicity and clarity, crystal transparency. They are intuitively understandable to every seeking heart. Write in the comments who agrees with this.

And, even if something seems a bit complicated at first, it’s enough to practice calmly and regularly for a while, and it becomes as integral a part of your life as sleep and food.

Spiritual practices are the main focus of the “Keys of Mastery” Learning Center. So I decided to create a complete and adequate structure of existing types of practices to make it easier for you to navigate and choose techniques that resonate with you.

Alena Starovoitova uses almost all of them in her courses and seminars.

We began studying the types of spiritual practices in the previous article, and looked at meditation, body and breathing systems, and asceticism.

Today I have also prepared a lot of tasty and useful things for you. So…

Spiritual Practices: Basic Level

5. Affirmations

Essence: Short, positive verbal formulas that need to be repeated regularly. Affirmations for money, self-love, and a good mood are widely popular.

You wake up in the morning and, before opening your eyes, say to yourself or out loud: “I am balancing my channel of receiving and giving.” This is a practice that works very well: the more you talk about it, the more it is imprinted in your subconscious, the faster the process begins.

It may seem like a trendy word, but in reality, this practice is ancient.

For example, in Christian religious practice, there are “affirmations” (assurance, upholding, confirmation of the truth of something).

In pagan cultures, incantations were common, the essence of which also boiled down to changes in a person’s subconscious.

Benefit: with frequent repetition, they are written into the subconscious and change thinking and lifestyle. That is, the person themselves begins to believe in their affirmation and act accordingly.

When composing affirmations, it is important that the phrase sounds without “not” (“I am healthy” instead of “I am not sick”), is spoken in the present tense and from the first person.

6. Prayer

Probably the most ancient and popular of spiritual practices. Even a hardened cynic in a difficult situation says “Oh, God”…

Essence: A mental or verbal appeal to Higher Powers (God, angels, nature spirits, and other spiritual beings – it all depends on your specific religious views).

This is the most important component of every person’s spiritual life, an intimate process of their Soul.

Prayers can differ in content – there are prayers of praise, thanksgiving, repentance, and supplication – depending on what a person wants to express.

Benefit: It helps you feel a connection and unity with the Higher Power, to feel supported.

During prayer, there is always a feeling that you are heard, understood, and accepted, that you are never alone.

This greatly helps a person balance their psyche in difficult life situations, as they say, to “lighten the Soul.”

7. Ceremonies and Rituals

Essence: Beautiful rites, actions whose purpose is to dedicate Divine energy (to God, the cosmos, world peace, etc.)
They, as a rule, carry no practical significance in everyday life. This is precisely a sacred act, not a “worldly” but a spiritual deed.

Ceremonies and rituals have been known to us since ancient times, and many have become part of our lives. Dyeing eggs for Easter, Slavic rites for Kupala, or laying out a cosmic spiral from stones – these are just a few examples. I think you can come up with many of your own.

We laid out and walked a spiral of cobblestones, in the center of which everyone could attune to the flow of powerful cosmic energy from the Galactic Center to raise their vibrations and strengthen their expressed intention.

Benefit: They harmonize a person’s consciousness and the space around them, creating a special solemn, reverent mood.

Depending on the occasion, they can evoke a feeling of peace or, on the contrary, a powerful spiritual uplift.

It is believed that ceremonies are like prayer – an appeal to higher powers with requests and gratitude, only in the form of actions. The intention during rituals truly works many times stronger, allowing us to attract what we desire into our lives.

8. Working with Places of Power

Essence: Pilgrimage to special places on our planet. It is believed that their energy influences a person’s consciousness, capable of changing our psyche and even our body.

These are usually significant historical and religious centers (the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem, the Egyptian pyramids, Stonehenge). Also, various corners of nature, often very beautiful or unusual, anomalous in their structure (Mount Shasta, Mount Kailash, Lake Baikal).

It is advisable to visit the main places of power in person, especially since it is also an entertaining adventure.

But first, not all of them are accessible for physical visits. And second, sometimes a trip is very difficult in terms of time, money, or health condition.

Therefore, there is such a spiritual practice as a mental (meditative) journey to places of power.

Benefits: Each place of power affects a person differently. There are healing places, places that absorb negativity, and places that fill you with new insights and spiritual strength.

A special group includes the Ascension Sites. They are used for transformation through Light and for raising people’s level of awareness. Some of them have a physical embodiment on Earth, some do not.

If this information has interested you, we have practical tools for working with Ascension Sites.

But for today, enough about spiritual practices. Continue reading (types of “advanced practices” — sacred texts, channelings, healing, and others) in the following articles!
