Every significant event in your life is part of one or another life lesson planned by the soul.
There are events that bring joy, but there are also those that cause much suffering and pain.
Can they be avoided and only positive experiences be gained? Is it necessary to suffer in order to gain wisdom, or are there other paths?
We will try to understand these and other questions today.
Life Lessons. How the Soul Plans Their Completion
Before incarnating on Earth in a human body, the soul chooses what it will learn in the current life. It composes thousands of scenarios for the development of events.
This is similar to a computer game. When a programmer writes it, they come up with a multitude of options for the game’s development at each step.
If the hero goes left, a certain chain of events will occur; if they choose another path, the game’s development will go down a different branch.
Wherever the hero goes, there is a continuation everywhere. All options are calculated in advance.
Life is also a game. Each time we face a choice: to get married or not, to have an abortion or give birth to a child, to stay living in our hometown or move to another country for permanent residence.
These are hundreds of thousands of options. Which path you take depends only on you.
The soul does not plan every step, but only major milestones — key events or decisions that unfold a specific scenario for completing a life lesson.
There are not many such events in life. You will see this for yourself if you scan your past and present.

Everything is Predetermined or Key Moments Can Be Changed
It is difficult to immediately grasp that life lessons planned by the soul and free choice can exist simultaneously.
Whether you learn this lesson depends on you. You always have the choice to go in any direction and stop at any place.
“On the planet of free choice, there is always predisposition, but no predetermination.
It should be noted here that very few events happen by chance, since our Higher Selves always orchestrate life experiences to help us learn our life lessons.
How we react to the experience and what we do with it is our own business. This is free choice in action.” — Steve Rother, “Spiritual Psychology”
Let’s look at this with an example.
The soul has a plan — to learn the ability to take responsibility for life upon oneself. To develop faith that a person is capable of finding their place in life, providing for themselves without the help of parents or loved ones.
The soul has countless options for achieving this, ranging from betrayal by a loved one to the death of all relatives.
When a person is left alone, they realize that there is no one to rely on. Then they begin to develop the courage to live on their own.
In this case, the chain of misfortunes is the key milestones. These are events that seemingly do not directly depend on the person. But they were created by their soul.
And even in such a situation, a person has a choice — to find the strength to climb out of this pit or to give up and complain about life.
Note, the second option is also a free choice.

The Significance of Contracts in Learning Life Lessons
If a soul needs another person’s help for development, souls make contracts with each other.
When the time comes to go through a lesson, you will inevitably encounter the right person. If you choose to turn the other way and don’t meet, life will still bring you to them when you are ready to learn the lesson.
Surely you have experienced that when meeting your chosen one, they seemed already familiar to you. As if you had seen them before.
Sometimes this really happens. You may have crossed paths repeatedly but were busy with other tasks.
But when the time came, you met and “recognized” each other.
As a rule, to avoid missing this particular person, souls agree on some identifying signs of how they will recognize each other: a smile, a voice.
Something you will definitely notice.
That is why, upon first meeting someone important to you, it feels like you have known them for years, as if there is something familiar about them: gestures, gait.
This is no coincidence.
If you are not ready to learn, you turn around and leave. This can be a conscious choice or unconscious behavior. In the latter case, it feels like something leads you away.
But if this life lesson is important to you, you will still return to studying it sooner or later. The form of learning may simply be different.

How to Determine That You Are Going Through a Lesson
One of the most common signs of going through a life lesson is recurring events. They are also called “keys”.
Each such event shares something in common.
For example, a woman is constantly abandoned by men, or when changing jobs, a person often encounters tyrannical bosses.
These situations may be linked by a key — the same names among men or bosses, or meetings happening on the same date.
More examples.
A person repeatedly faces betrayal by friends throughout life. The key might be that all these people look alike, have a similar personality type, gestures, or even voice.
A person often gets into accidents or breaks limbs. Such situations may be linked by the fact that they occur on the same date, or that number appears in the date of the event (year, month, or day).
Or it happens with the same frequency, for example, every 7 months.
If you are going through a specific lesson — the main task of your current life — there may be several unifying keys: matching dates, names, and other factors.
Try to recall what recurring situations happen to you and find the keys. Perhaps this will help you identify which life lesson you are meant to learn or are already learning.

Why the soul plans misfortunes and how to avoid them
The soul does not care whether it learns what it planned in one lifetime or several.
On the subtle plane, there is no time calculation like on Earth. Everything exists here and now.
First, the soul chooses a positive experience. But if it cannot learn over several lifetimes, then it makes a choice in favor of a negative experience.
The presence of misfortunes, failures, and suffering in your life indicates that your soul has been trying to figure something out for more than one lifetime.
If you want to break this vicious circle, learn to listen to the signs of the universe. No negative event happens suddenly. It is always preceded by softer signals.
